Ingredients
1 kg Apple
200 g Margarine
500 g Flour
200 g Sugar
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Sugar
2 Tablespoon Baking Powder
a Pinch of Salt
4 Eggs
4 Tablespoon Orange Juice / Milk
For Glazing
100 g Roasted Almond Chips
3 Tablespoon Apricot Jam or Any Marmalade
Procedure
- Wash and peel apples. Slice them in cubes ca. 2 cm.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celcius.
- Prepare and grease 28 cm diameter round baking form.
- Beat the butter with an electric mixer until soft and creamy add sugar gradually then add eggs one after the other. Add flour with baking powder and vanilla sugar into the mixture gradually.
- Transfer 1/2 portion batter in a prepared baking form.
- Add sliced apples on the batter. Add the remaining 1/2 portion of the batter on the top of sliced apples.
- Bake the mixture for one hour.
- Cool the cake a little bit.
- While the cake is still warm, glaze the jam with a cake brush.
- Coat the cake with roasted almond chips.
- Serve with coffee or tea and enjoy!
