Bees are very important because they are doing a very valuable task for our food production through pollinating flowers that produced food for us. I am so thankful with these insects for they are doing a good job in my garden. Additionally, I love bees because they are producing a valuable product called honey.

The Food Drugs Authority (FDA) defines honey as, “a thick, sweet, syrupy substance that bees make as food from the nectar of flowers and store in honeycombs.”

This thick liquid is compact with number of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are beneficial for our health. Since ancient times until now we treasure the health benefits of honey.

Honey is used in many ways: for food, for cosmetics, and even as natural remedies for sicknesses and diseases.

I am glad to share in this article how I use honey and enjoy the benefits of it every day.

Please be aware that honey is not advisable for babies younger than one year old. Honey contains bacteria that is not good for babies intestines.

Immune System booster
When I was a school kid my mother gave me every day a tablespoon of honey before going to school. I believed it was the reason why I am not frail to any diseases. Now my 5-year-old daughter loves to add honey to her tea every day. She has a robust immune system.

Another bee product that is highly recommended is propolis extract. For symptoms of colds and flu, we always used propolis extract. We just add 20 drops of extract to yogurt to take it, 3x a day. For this, we don’t need a doctor.
