Baking cookies during Christmas time is a long tradition here in Germany. I love and enjoy baking Christmas cookies. They are unique and priceless present to my loved ones.

I am glad that I already managed to bake our Christmas goodies. My little girl was happy and proud to share our home-made delicious cookies with others.

These are my favorite christmas recipes. They are tested and proven and with a success guarantee.

This is simple and easy to remember recipe. It is my 1,2,3 recipe (300g flour, 200g butter, and 100g sugar).

Flatten the dough approximately 1/2 cm thick. Use desired Christmas motive to cut the cookie. Put them on a greased baking pan. Glaze them with egg yolk and put any fancy toppings.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celcius. Bake for 12 minutes, until light brown.

Tip: For a nutty flavor, you can replace the 300 g flour with ->100g Almond Powder and 200g Flour.

Dash the combined vanilla sugar over the cooled baked cookies.

Mercy’s Chocolate Truffles

A chocolate truffle is a type of chocolate confectionery, traditionally made with a chocolate ganache centre coated in chocolate, cocoa powder or chopped toasted nuts (typically hazelnuts, almonds, or coconut), usually in a spherical, conical, or curved shape.

Truffles are very pretty and appetizing. They are the best pair with Champagne or white wine especially during this Christmas and New Year Holidays! 🙂

Saechsache Kloeppelpitzen

This recipe is from my late dear friend Thyra. From her, I learned the German tradition of baking cookies during Christmas time. This recipe forms thin crispy nutty-butter-sugar-flakes. Hmm… water flows now in my mouth. This is one of my favorite cookie recipes. Try it!

Ingredients

100 g Soft Butter
100 Sugar
100 g Almond Flakes
50 g Flour
a pinch of Salt

Procedure

Mix sugar to soft butter with a wooden spoon. Then add flour and Almond flakes. Scoop the mixture with a spoon and lay them on the baking pan. Take enough distance between scoops for they will melt and flatten.
Preheat the oven to 180 grad Celsius. Bake for 8 minutes, until light brown.
